This is an action at law for damages resulting from the alleged illegal arrest and detention of the plaintiff.

On July 4, 1949, the defendant, a deputy sheriff of Ingham county, arrested the plaintiff and delivered him to the custody of the sheriff. He remained in such custody until July 8th. Plaintiff claimed the arrest was illegal and the detention unreasonable. Upon trial before a jury, a verdict was returned for the plaintiff for illegal arrest...
