MORRISON, Judge.

The offense is a violation of Article 5429a, Vernon's Ann.Civil Statutes; the punishment, twelve months' confinement in jail and a fine of $1,000.

The appellant was subpoenaed to appear before the Crime Investigating Committee of the House of Representatives, 52nd Legislature of the State of Texas, on June 2, 1951. He did appear and, prior to being sworn, tendered the Committee an affidavit setting forth the fact that he was then under indictment...
