This appeal involves the right of custody of Dale Schmidt, a ten-year-old boy, the son of Pearl Schmidt, now Pearl Rowell, appellee herein, and Aage Schmidt, appellant herein. In 1946, in the circuit court of Lake county, Illinois, Aage Schmidt obtained a decree of divorce from his wife, Pearl Schmidt, on a counterclaim on the ground of desertion.
