Appellant, Eddie Thomas, was indicted for rape by a grand jury of Jefferson County, Bessemer Division. He was unable to employ counsel, so at the time of arraignment the trial court, under the provisions of § 318, Title 15, Code 1940, as amended, appointed members of the Jefferson County Bar to represent him.
