On January 21, 1952, the defendant filed his application for the issuance of a writ of habeas corpus. The Mercer County Court denied the application.

The defendant was convicted of a crime having a statutory maximum of 15 years. In April, 1946, the former Monmouth County Court of Quarter Sessions sentenced him thereon to the New Jersey State Reformatory at Rahway. At the time, R.S....
