1. The exceptions pendente lite on the judgment overruling the defendant's demurrers are not argued in this court, and will be considered as abandoned.

2. In so far as the general grounds of the motion for new trial are concerned, it is sufficient to say that, for reasons that will appear below in the discussion of the special grounds, there is no merit in any of them.
