On March 12, 1951, appellant, Arthur Nox Grays, was charged with first degree murder for the killing of Homer Tucker on the 4th day of the same month. Tucker was a taxi driver operating out of Blytheville and the killing occurred about eight miles east of there near a place called Amorel.
