On January 27, 1950, Kathryn Bower filed her bill of complaint in the Circuit Court of Palm Beach County, Florida, against her husband, George Melvin Bower, and prayed for the entry of an order allowing support and maintenance as provided by statute. The husband Bower, on February 2, 1950, filed an answer to the bill of complaint of his wife and at the same time a counterclaim in which he prayed for a divorce on grounds recognized by statute.
