By an information filed in the circuit court of Jackson County, Missouri, on the 8th day of September, 1949, the defendant was charged with the crime of murder in the first degree. On trial, on the 11th day of January, 1950, before a jury in Division No. 7, Criminal Division B. of said court, the defendant was found guilty of murder in the second degree and his punishment fixed at imprisonment in the Missouri penitentiary for a term of 20 years.
