Many reasons impel us to state formally on the record the considerations which led us on Friday last to order the present respondents to show cause why they should not be held in contempt of the court. We do so before we hear the parties in response to the rule, and thus before we even begin to consider whether they are guilty of the charges made against them by their adversaries.
