On March 6, 1944, the greater portion of a building leased by the United States from plaintiff, The Container Company, was destroyed by fire. Plaintiffs seek to hold the United States liable under the lease for the damage. Plaintiffs contend that the second floor of the building had been overloaded in violation of the terms of the lease and that this and other acts of negligence caused the fire.
