GIBSON, C.J.

A dispute arose between Michel Kraike, an artist, and petitioners, who are executors of the estate of F.W. Vincent, deceased, an employment agent, over commissions claimed to be due under a written agency contract. The dispute was submitted to the Labor Commissioner for settlement, and after a hearing the petitioners were awarded the sum of $500. Kraike did not seek a hearing de novo in the superior court, as allowed by section 1647 of the Labor Code...
