The appellants were indicted in six counts, five charging Noro with having wilfully and knowingly attempted to defeat a large part of his income taxes by making false returns, for the years 1936, 1937, 1938, 1939 and 1940, Goto aiding and abetting. The sixth count charges a conspiracy among them and another to do this. They were convicted on all counts, and a general sentence imposed of imprisonment for one year, and to pay the costs of prosecution...
