At the time of his death, April 30, 1936, the decedent had certain life insurance policies which he had taken out on his own life in the total amount of $177,875.50. Decedent's wife, Dorothy B. Rule, was the sole beneficiary under each and all of the nineteen policies (finding 13). Plaintiff and decedent were married July 1, 1914.
