On March 31, 1942 a few minutes before 6 a. m. on a dark rainy morning off Turkey Point in the upper Chesapeake Bay the E. Madison Hall, a motor vessel of 212 gross tons, came in collision with an unlighted wreck and both the Hall and her cargo became a total loss.
