Kennecott Copper Corporation owns a large open-pit mine in Bingham Canyon, Utah, and two reduction mills near Garfield, Utah. The mine and the mills are about seventeen miles apart. Utah Copper Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kennecott and is engaged in the operation of the mine and the mills.
