W. E. Ross, his wife and seven minor children, lived in a four-room house in Ardmore, Oklahoma. On the early morning of December 14, 1939, the house was destroyed by fire. Some members of the family lost their lives and others were seriously injured. Four separate actions were instituted against the Oklahoma Natural Gas Company, seeking recovery of damages.
