On February 28, 1938, Vertex Hosiery Mills, Inc., a depositor in the First National Bank of Lehighton, Pennsylvania, drew a check upon that bank for $9,258.05 payable to the order of plaintiffs. Plaintiffs endorsed the check and deposited it for collection in their account with their local bank, which forwarded it through a Richmond bank to the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.
