On September 27, 1935 the tug Margaret towing the barge Maine alongside proceeded up the Rappahannock River to Fredericksburg, Va., passing the dredge Freeport about the middle of Snowden's Bar Reach a quarter of a mile south of Dangerfield Short Turn, engaged in deepening the 120 foot cut channel.
