Appellant was convicted of murder in the first degree under an indictment charging him with the killing of his wife.

In his first two assignments of error appellant challenges the failure of the trial court to instruct the jury upon "the law of good character" and the possible effect of evidence of good character, together with other evidence, in raising a reasonable doubt of guilt.
