Seventh Street Savings Bank was organized in 1912 under the laws of the state of West Virginia. It thereafter conducted a banking business exclusively in the District of Columbia. In December, 1933, the Comptroller of the Currency determined that the bank was insolvent and unable to pay its debts and appointed Hamilton as receiver of the bank.
