Roland Brittingham filed a libel in personam against Ore Steamship Corporation, owner of the steamship Mangore, under section 33 of the Merchant Marine Act of 1920, 41 Stat. 1007 (46 U. S. C. § 688 [46 USCA § 688]), claiming damages for the loss of sight in his left eye which he suffered when it was struck by a small piece of metal during repairs to the ship's engine.
