Appellants were indicted, tried, and convicted of murder in the first degree. Their motion for a new trial was denied by the lower court, and the case is here on appeal.

The killing occurred on the 7th of August, 1932, in one of the parks in the colored section of the city of Washington. The victim was a police officer. Earlier that evening he had arrested two colored boys for disorderly...
