These two petitioners were arrested, together with one Williams, who was later released, in room 604, at No. 1547 Broadway, New York City, January 12, 1931, by a deputy United States marshal in execution of a John Doe warrant. They were charged with maintaining a liquor nuisance and with conspiracy to violate the National Prohibition Act.
