This is an interference case in which Slattery has appealed from the action of the Board of Patent Appeals on October 8, 1927, affirming a decision of the Examiner of Interferences according priority in favor of Larner to an invention relating to "valves, particularly hydraulic valves of the pressure operated plunger type."

The devices involved in the controversy appear to be contemplated as being for use in water pipes or conduits...
