On or about the 26th day of December, 1925, there were delivered to the respondents as common carriers, at Colombo, Ceylon, 1,000 cases of desiccated cocoanuts, in good order and condition, and loaded on board the steamship Makalla, for transportation to the port of New York, there to be delivered in the same good order and condition as when shipped, to the order of Lee Higginson & Co., Boston.
