Adler, as individuals and as copartners trading as Eichengreen & Co., were adjudicated bankrupts on July 17, 1926, and receivers were appointed to take charge of their assets. The copartners (hereinafter called the dealers) had been engaged in the wholesale and retail shoe business, with stores in Baltimore, Md., and York, Pa.
