This case concerns the successful application of electric coal haulage to the rooms of bituminous coal mines. The layout of such mines consists of main entries or haulways, from the entrance to the end of the mine. Depending on the scope of the operation, these entries sometimes extend for several miles, and, varying with the dip of the coal vein, have considerable up and down grades.
