At the time this suit was tried the plaintiff was Chief Signal Officer of the United States Army, with the rank of Major General. Since his graduation from West Point in 1887, Gen. Squier has devoted his time and talents to the army service, giving particular attention to communication systems. Entering the army's Signal Corps in 1898, he became familiar with all forms of signaling, including wire telegraphy...
