Four actions on promissory notes were brought by indorsee banks against the makers. Jurisdiction was based on diversity of citizenship, and the prerequisites duly appeared. Two of the actions were tried together, and a stipulation was entered into by the parties that the other two actions should abide the result. The trial court directed a verdict in each of the two actions in favor of the plaintiff, and judgments were entered. Writs of error...
