This is an action brought in a State Court in New York, by Reece M. Oberteuffer, Henry Abegg and Henry H. Daeniker, composing the mercantile firm of Oberteuffer, Abegg & Daeniker, against William H. Robertson, Collector of the port of New York, to recover $140.80 as an excess of duties, paid on coverings and putting up charges on hosiery and gloves, on which ad valorem duties were imposed by law...
