BROOKS v. STATE

Nos. 05-16-00182-CR, 05-16-00183-CR.

WALDRICK BROOKS, Appellant, v. THE STATE OF TEXAS, Appellee.

Court of Appeals of Texas, Fifth District, Dallas.

Attorney(s) appearing for the Case

Kathryn M. Veech , for Waldrick Brooks, Appellant.

Lori Ordiway , Faith Johnson , for State of Texas.

ORDER

ADA BROWN, Justice.

By letter dated December 27, 2016, appellate counsel Kathryn Veech informed the Court she was preparing to take a medical leave of absence but noted she would first file the brief in these appeals. Appellant's brief was received March 1, 2017. On the front of the brief is noted "Oral Argument is Requested." Because it is unclear whether Ms. Veech intends to remain as appellate counsel, we DIRECT Ms. Veech to inform the Court, within ten days of the date of this order, whether she intends to withdraw as appellate counsel in these appeals. If she does, the appropriate response would be a motion to withdraw.

On the Court's own motion, we ORDER the brief filed as of the date of this order.
