INTRODUCTION

The district court convicted William B. Pereira of second degree murder, pursuant to his plea of no contest, and imposed a sentence of 50 years' to life imprisonment. Because, viewed in context, the district court merely required Pereira's sentencing comments to be addressed to the bench rather than to spectators, we reject his contention that the court improperly limited or denied his right of allocution.
