In 1997, the Pennsylvania General Assembly amended Section 6106 of the Uniform Firearms Act (codified in the Crimes Code at 18 Pa.C.S. §§ 6101-6126), which had previously graded as a felony of the third degree the act of carrying a firearm without a license.
