In 1995, Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company filed suit against The Home Insurance Company for breach of contract. The district court referred the parties to arbitration because their agreement contained an arbitration clause. Prior to the final resolution of the dispute, Nationwide sought confirmation of various interim decisions issued by the arbitration panel.
