This is an appeal from the district court's order barring Steven Dean's habeas corpus petition as untimely. Although convicted prior thereto, Dean filed his first habeas corpus petition after enactment of the Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act ("AEDPA"), but within the AEDPA's one-year statute of limitations.
