In July of 2000, this case was tried before a jury on Gordon Reid's claim that Defendant, Officer Simmons, violated his constitutionally protected right to due process and a fair criminal trial by failing to disclose exculpatory impeachment evidence to the attorneys who prosecuted Reid in state court. See 42 U.S.C. § 1983. See generally Brady v. Maryland, 373 U.S. 83
