Defendant Edsel Torres Gómez was arrested on April 8, 1998 and charged with violations of 18 U.S.C. § 922(o) and 924(c)(1) and 21 U.S.C. §§ 841, 846, and 848. On April 21, 1998, a Grand Jury for the District of Puerto Rico rendered an indictment charging the defendant with violations of 21 U.S.C. §§ 841, 846, and 848. The Court was then informed on May 8, 1998...
