Mary Cartwright, her son, Terrence Bailey, and her daughter, Brandee Cartwright (the Cartwrights), brought this § 1983 action against Lloyd Jennings, superintendent of the Indiana state police, and officer Bernadette Stamper alleging, inter alia, that the defendants violated the plaintiffs' Fourth Amendment rights by an unauthorized entry into their apartment.
