Respondent Judy Runningbear was convicted by a jury of attempt to commit second-degree murder, first-degree burglary, aggravated robbery, first-degree assault, and conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery. Prior to trial, respondent moved to dismiss the charges alleging that she was denied her statutory right to a speedy trial, section 18-1-405, 8 C.R.S. (1978 & 1982 Supp.). The district court denied the motion, but the court of appeals reversed...
