In July 1976, Boise Cascade entered into a contract with the State of Idaho to purchase five units of timber in Valley County in the Kennally Creek area. Under the contract, Boise Cascade was obligated to cut all designated logs, but it only had to pay for those logs which were delivered to the mill; Boise Cascade was not charged for those logs which were cut and left in the woods.
