LOTTINGER, Judge.

Kennedy Thompson was charged by grand jury indictment with first degree murder. The indictment was amended on the first day of trial to charge the defendant with second degree murder and armed robbery, violations of La.R.S. 14:30.1 and 14:64, respectively. He was tried by a jury, convicted as charged and subsequently sentenced to serve life imprisonment at hard labor, without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence for the second degree...
