Gregory Payne (defendant) was charged by bill of information with armed robbery in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:64. He filed a motion to suppress physical evidence as being the fruit of an illegal search. After a hearing, the motion was denied. The bill of information was amended to charge defendant with simple robbery in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:65.
