We granted certiorari to review the unpublished decision of the court of appeals in Rocha v. People (No. 82CA1452, Jan. 19, 1984), which held that the district court did not abuse its discretion in sentencing the fifteen year old defendant, Jason Price Rocha, to the Department of Corrections for a term of twelve years, plus one year of parole, as the result of Rocha's guilty plea to second degree murder.
