JUSTICE O'CONNOR delivered the opinion of the court:

Claimant appeals a $5,000 judgment entered by the trial court as her spouse's award under the Probate Act. (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1979, ch. 110 1/2, par. 15-1.) She contends that the trial court improperly awarded only the minimum statutory amount as the spouse's award.

Decedent and claimant were married on August 18, 1978. Decedent moved into claimant's house, which she had purchased...
