Petitioner was indicted by the Grand Jury of Augusta County, Virginia for five separate offenses1 occurring on or about May 8, 1958. He had counsel appointed for him on May 26, 1958, and his counsel agreed to try the five charges together. Petitioner was then arraigned and pleaded guilty to all five charges.
