Plaintiffs, mother and son, brought suit for damages for personal injuries sustained by Mrs. Clarke and related medical expenses incurred by Clem S. Clarke as the result of a broken hip suffered by Mrs. Clarke, then 82 years of age, when she fell from her bed while a patient in defendants' sanatorium. Made defendants were Dr. Gowen and The Gowen Sanatorium, Inc. Prior to trial Mrs. Clarke died from causes unconnected with the fall and her son, as sole...
